It is an account based on the Islamic banking concept of Mudarabah. It involves a contract between you and the bank, where you provide funds for the bank’s business activity, and in turn, receive a share of profits based on the monthly balance in your account.

Individuals aged 18 years & above whose monthly salary does not exceed OMR 350, are eligible to open a WPS Savings Account.

There is no minimum balance requirement for the Basic WPS Savings Account.

Basic WPS Account holders will be issued a ‘MAAL” Debit Card and the use of debit card issued under this account will be restricted to transactions originated within the Sultanate of Oman.
